Angela + Kevin | Vintage, Woods Inspired, Southern Wedding

With them,
home had a face
or rather two.
Wherever they wandered
together was home.

March 20th couldn't have been a lovelier sunny afternoon to get married--typical of Texas spring weather it was bright and breezy. A particularly perfect day for a particularly perfect couple.

Angela and Kevin were complete strangers to me when I met them for Kevin's proposal in Hot Springs-- read that story here, but there couldn't have been a more ideal couple for me and by the time March arrived I attended their day feeling more like family than anything else. Guys, I attend a lot of weddings, and each one always stands out in a different way. Angela and Kevin's day was hallmarked by not only their sincere love for each other but sincere love for them displayed by everyone around them. I have never seen more delighted faces during each moment of the day. Everyone around them was beaming to witness their joining together. It was something special. Something I rarely see, and something to be cherished.

Angela wore her mother's wedding dress, almost 30 years after her parents wedding. (See Angela's bridal session here!) And as I was capturing Kevin and Angela's portraits together, they seemed so perfectly at ease that it was easy to imagine them 30 years from now--being together is just so right for them.

Ang and Kevin, thank you so very much for allowing me the honor of capturing your entire journey. It has been one of blessings and love. True love is hard to find these days, but it radiates from you both in how you care for each other. It is my prayer that through life's inevitable ups and downs you will be able to look back over these images and remember that day--one of many to come in your married life--where joy is available for the taking. Love you both! -Katie

Whitney + Daniel - Southern, Wintry Wedding - Conway, Arkansas Wedding Photographer

“They laughed as only they could.
Blissfully unchecked, two happy souls at peace and in love.
That magic that is togetherness.
They wore it well."

Every wedding and every couple brings to mind a certain memory. Whitney and Daniel have been laughter from day one. Not just any laughter, but laughter like I have never seen in front of a camera. Two people at absolute ease with each other and the world. It did my heart good to witness it, and I hope it does yours good as well.

Whitney and Daniel, there are so many more words that I could write. You both are so dear to my heart and it was an absolute honor to archive your happiness and the beginning of your married life. Thank you so much for the opportunity. Don't ever stop laughing together. It truly is magic.

**Special thanks to YoYo Cho for helping photograph at the last second and capturing the perfect "Kiss" photo during the ceremony! **

Marykay + Isai | Mansfield, Texas Wedding Photographer - Aristide Event Center

I had the privilege of photographing Marykay and Isai's vows to each other on a gorgeous Texas morning this November. Not sure if I have ever mentioned that I ADORE morning weddings, but I do! Aristide Event Center was the perfect classic backdrop for them. Their day was filled with joy and their love for each other was clear to everyone around them. Not to mention they are absolutely super fun people to be around!

Marykay and Isai, thank you so much for the honor of witnessing and capturing your wedding day. I had so much fun and loved watching you guys together! God bless you both as you begin your new life together as Mr. and Mrs. Aguilar!

Ariel + Kyle | Wedding at A&M Gardens - Azle, Texas

Ariel and Kyle booked me through some of their best friends, Monica and Michael, whose wedding I shot in Little Rock this August. Word of mouth referrals are the absolute best and I knew immediately that any friend of Monica's was going to be an awesome client. I was completely right! I cannot begin to say all of the nice things about this couple. They are the epitome of good people and the proof of that is how well the people closest to them love them. I enjoyed every moment capturing their day. One of my favorite moments was their first look. In fact, it is my favorite first look EVER. And I have seen quite a few of them! Not everyone feels comfortable to be themselves on their wedding day, but there was absolutely no question how much Kyle adored his bride as tears came from the first moment he laid eyes on her ( and he couldn't keep his eyes off of her from then on). My second favorite moment of the day was when the same friend that caught Monica's bouquet in August caught Ariel's! She wasn't even going for it either, it made a bee line straight to her and her reaction was absolutely precious!

Ariel and Kyle, thank you so much for allowing me this joy of serving you both and your families on your wedding day. Thank you for being amazing clients and thank you for forgiving me every time I called you the wrong names! Much love to you both, and God bless you and your new life together!

Big shoutout to Jessica Sherrill for assisting me throughout the day and capturing several of the beautiful moments seen above! <3

Allyssa + Razvan | Intimate Kansas Farm Wedding

Allyssa and Razvan's wedding was special to me for several reasons. First of all they are dear friends we made in Romania, and come to find out Razvan is basically Elvis' extended cousin! It's a small world. In addition, they are going to be a cross cultural couple, exactly like us since Razvan is Romanian and Allyssa is American. Except they met in Romania, while we met in the states. I took their engagement photos in Romania this past summer and we had a blast so I knew that their DIY wedding on Allyssa's family's 6 generational farm was going to be special. And it was. They both gave their personal vows to each other in the others' native language. And I could hardly keep back tears listening to Allyssa proclaim her loyalty and lifelong love in Romanian to Razvan. This wedding day was so right for them both, unassuming while lacking in no detail, and completely genuine. They had made yard games for the guests and had an afghan station for when the October evening turned chilly. It was absolutely perfect and one of my most memorable weddings to date.  Allyssa and Razvan, te iubim si multumesc lui Dumnezeu pentru voi si prietenia noastra. Dumnezeu sa  binecuvinteze noua ta familia si sa ne revedem in Romania! <3
