Kellie + Craig | Hot Springs Arkansas Proposal Photographer

On March 17, 2017 I had the honor of photographing the most stunning proposal I have ever witnessed. There were thousands of flowers, dozens of candles, and live music playing on a lake terrace for this perfect moment!  Kellie was absolutely surprised! Her fiancee, Craig, lives in Boston and she thought was simply coming home from a day of fun with her sweet kids. Little did she know what was waiting for her! Great job to all the fantastic vendors who came together in just a few days to pull this off!
Kellie and Craig, congratulations to all four of you! I hope this beautiful beginning is just that, a beautiful beginning to lifelong adventures together!

Ron & Miriam | Chicago Engagement Photographer

Flew up to the Windy City a couple weeks back to photograph Ron and Miriam's amazing engagement party and we also had the opportunity to do a portrait session in and around the downtown area. (In true Katie fashion I dismantled one of the amazing centerpieces the day after the event to create a bouquet for the session. I am always saying this guys, but I'm serious, if I didn't take pictures of flowers I would do flowers!) Ron is a local pharmacist born and bred in Chitown while Miriam is an RN hailing from the sunny state of Arizona! Needless to say, they will make their home together in the downtown Chicago area after their wedding this May!

Roni si Miriam, Felicitarii! Multumim asa de mult pentru tot ce a-ti facut pentru noi. We enjoyed spending time with you both and will be praying for you as you begin your lifelong adventure together! Casa de piatra si Dumnezeu sa va binecuvinteze!

Yo Yo + Kevin | Pensacola Wedding Photographer

When my sweet friend Yo Yo asked me to photograph her Pensacola wedding, I was ecstatic. Not only because she is such a dear friend, but who isn't excited about Florida in January! Turns out Yo Yo and Kevin were married on quite possibly the coldest wedding day I have ever experienced, complete with a single digit wind chill. However, that didn't stop the joy or laughter that the day held for both of them and their guests. And it evidently didn't stop fresh tiny oranges from being on the trees either!

Yo Yo and Kevin, thank you so much for the honor you shared by asking me to archive your day for you. Watching you both together was pure joy. Blessings on your life together, be it on this continent or another. We love you!

I Found Love in The Natural State | 2017 GIVEAWAY

2017 is a milestone year for me. 10 years will have passed since I packed my bags and moved to Conway, Arkansas to go to a small liberal arts college. 10 Years have passed since I first began falling in love with the Natural State, and when I met and began to love the man who would become my husband. Like so many people in this state, I was grafted in, falling hard and fast for The Natural State in all its grass roots glory. For me, it was the community. I couldn't believe that everyone here knew EVERYONE. You went to church with your dentist, had professors take your class to breakfast, and couldn't make it in and out of Wal-mart without seeing five people you knew. Coming from the Dallas metro area this was totally new for me, and it quickly became the thing that most endeared me to the Natural State.

Fast forward ten years and that cute Romanian boy became my cute Romanian husband, three precious babies were given to us, and we have been living with our hearts and lives between this Natural State and Eastern Europe for several years. This has been amazing because it has given me the opportunity to photograph weddings all over the United States and in places like Germany, Romania, and Puerto Rico! This year is no exception as I have weddings and events in the Twin Cities, Chicago, NY area, Dallas, Midwest, and Romania. However, I realized this week when talking to a friend that I have more out-of-state and international events this year than I have in my own community, and my own community is where it's at you guys! This grass roots, down-home, say-hello-to-your-neighbor community is what captured my heart ten years ago and it's about time for me to put out some real roots here. So I know I may have a pilgrim tendencies, but guys, the Natural State is finally home for me and I'm ready to have heart to hearts with brides right here. I'm ready to support and champion brides who have, like me, found love in The Natural State.

So what does that mean? Just a few things.
